According to the Palm Beach Post, a man was charged with
animal cruelty with death for cutting his dog’s throat twice last Saturday. Kenneth Russell Hall, 39, cut his pit bull’s throat after the dog got into a fight with another dog, then again to make sure it was dead.
Hall has a history of arrests including probation violation, DUI, and domestic battery. He was being held with a $10,000 bail.
Animal Cruelty Law
Animal cruelty in Florida should not be taken lightly. Stray overpopulation is a serious problem and is the cause of many animal cruelty cases. The
Florida animal law statute states that “A person who intentionally commits an act to any animal which results in the cruel death, or excessive or repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering, or causes the same to be done, is guilty of a felony of the third degree, punishable by a fine of not more than $10,000.”
