According to a recent article in WPTV News, the principal of Plumosa Elementary School in Delray Beach has been arrested on these charges. Priscilla Maloney is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of school furniture for a local business. Palm Beach County State Attorney Michael McAuliffe stated that she stole and misused school property. She allegedly stole a projector for her own personal use. McAuliffe also said Maloney submitted false paperwork to be fraudulently reimbursed. A family called the police from a Shell gas station on the corner of Congress Avenue and Boynton Beach Boulevard around 2:45 p.m. after a man broke into their SUV and stole it from outside the gas station while they were inside. The family was hysterical as their 3-week-old baby was still inside the vehicle. The police report stated that a witness tried to follow the suspect onto Lawrence Road but later lost track of him. A property manager allegedly fooled two elderly members of condo boards into signing checks for “cash,” pulling more than $2 million dollars from the condos. Grace Cushman Cromwell, 52, was arrested Thursday morning on charges of grand theft, organized scheme to defraud, and several other counts. According to the article, Cromwell worked for a property management company that managed two condo associations in West Palm Beach, Park Place (369 South Lake Drive) and Melbourne House (227 Australian Avenue). There are bank records showing hundreds of checks, made out to cash, were deposited into personal bank accounts of Cromwell between January 2006 and February 2010. According to an article in the Palm Beach Post, two men and a juvenile stormed a barbershop, wearing masks and waving guns, and robbed its employees and patrons, police said. The robbery is just one more on the list of increasing robberies in South Florida. A police log entry says that, about 7 p.m. Friday, three men came into the Phat Headz barbershop at 1550 N. Federal Highway. They took wallets from several patrons and took cash from the business before running out, the log entry said. According to an article in WPTV News, a Florida Keys teen was arrested Sunday evening after a home that was burglarized was found to have a computer logged into the young man’s MySpace account, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office says a caretaker for the home on Sugarloaf Key reported the burglary when the caretaker was preparing to remove hurricane shutters from a door and saw someone sitting on the living room couch. Deputies arriving at the home found no one inside, but they did find a back window open, empty soda and food containers, and some marijuana on a coffee table.
