A 27-year-old man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday after he traded cocaine in exchange for oxycodone with a confidential informant, according to an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office report.


Deputies said Garfield Gardner had previously sold the informant cocaine and wanted to trade 150 oxycodone pills for a mixture of powder and crack cocaine.

According to the report, Gardner met with the informant and was caught on surveillance as he made the exchange. Deputies arrested Gardner immediately after the transaction.

Gardner faces charges of trafficking in cocaine and oxycodone.
