According to police, the two men, one of them armed with a handgun, walked into the Comfort Inn at 2520 Stirling Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 14. One man reached over the counter for the cash register but was unable to locate it. On the surveillance video he can then be seen approaching a man and snatching his wallet before running away. The video shows the gunman jumping over the counter where police said he demanded cash from an employee. The clerk told him that money was not kept at the front counter, at which point the man rummaged through a cabinet, then jumped back over the counter and fled. Armed Robber Yet to be Caught – Sheriff’s Office Needs Your Help

Robbery is probably the most common crime ever reported. The instances happen so often in so many areas that the public is desensitized to it in a way. Usually, however, robberies are poorly executed, and the culprit is usually caught. In this case however, the robber has yet to be caught and the sheriff’s office is using a composite sketch to try and identify the criminal. According to WPTV News, the sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in identifying an armed robber who targeted a driver on State Road 7 earlier this month. Why Robbery Isn’t Worth Life Imprisonment

According to a recent and urgent article from WPTV, a 67-year-old man was shot in his eye Saturday morning but is expected to survive. Ahmad Zayyad, of Belle Glade, was working at the Super Merchandise Store, 265 W Ave. A, when two black males walked in and demanded cash around 10:30 a.m. Zayyad tried running from the suspects but was shot in the left eye. He was air-lifted to Delray Medical Center. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera said she thinks the men got away with only Zayyad’s wallet. The two males are described as between the ages of 17 and 20, between five-foot-five and five-foot-six, and medium build. One suspect, who was armed, was wearing a burgundy, hooded sweatshirt. South Florida Continues to be a Hot Spot for Armed Robberies

According to an article in the Palm Beach Post, two men and a juvenile stormed a barbershop, wearing masks and waving guns, and robbed its employees and patrons, police said. The robbery is just one more on the list of increasing robberies in South Florida. A police log entry says that, about 7 p.m. Friday, three men came into the Phat Headz barbershop at 1550 N. Federal Highway. They took wallets from several patrons and took cash from the business before running out, the log entry said. Police say the three fled in a car that had been carjacked on Nov. 16 in Lake Worth but were caught a short time later. Armed robbery is a first-degree felony in Florida and carries a statutory maximum of 30 years in prison. Unfortunately, our local pizza delivery drivers have been known to be the most vulnerable to armed robberies. According to an article in WPTV News Channel 5, another pizza deliveryman was robbed, only three days on the job. Oscar Cruz of Palm Beach County, arrived at the house of the order to find a light on and a car in the driveway. It wasn’t until he reached the front door that he knew something was wrong.
