The article read: a woman and her boyfriend are accused of the beating death of her 3-year-old son after he wet his pants. Pierce woman accused of giving prescription pills to a 16-year-old girl was held Monday in the St. Lucie County jail, according to an arrest affidavit and a jail official. Lisa Bennett, of the 5900 block of Hickory Drive in Fort Pierce, was arrested last week on charges including dispensing a prescription without a license, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child abuse. The central Florida grandmother who tried to sell her daughter’s baby is now out on bail. It is unclear who posted her $100,000 bail and allowed her to leave the Volusia County Branch Jail Sunday. Patty Bigbee, 45, is accused of attempted to sell her 2-month-old grandson for $30,000. She was arrested in Daytona in November for the illegal sale of a child when she handed the 2-month-old over to a Tampa area couple in a shopping center parking lot. Jail officials say Bigbee’s boyfriend, 42-year-old Lawrence Works, remains in jail with no bail allowed. Works is charged with being a principal to the sale of a child. The Centers for Disease Control believes breastfeeding is ideal for babies because it is easy to digest and contains antibodies that can protect infants from bacterial and viral infections. As reported by police, Crystal Whitaker from Lake Park, Fla., shoplifted about $300 worth of merchandise from a JCPenney store while leaving a 10-month-old child in the hands of another child. The mentally disturbed mother of a young girl who was found walking alone in the Westgate neighborhood of surburban West Palm Beach has been charged with child neglect without bodily harm, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office affidavit. The sheriff’s affidavit states this isn’t the first time Gramson left her daughter alone. A neighbor told detectives Gramson walked off, leaving her daughter by herself two years ago.
