According to an article in WPTV News, a Pennsylvania man is now facing drug charges after lighting up a Marijuana joint at a western Pennsylvania hospital to celebrate his child’s birth. Police are not identifying the father who lit up a joint, instead of a cigar, in a designated smoking area of Uniontown Hospital Tuesday morning. Uniontown police Sgt. Jonathan Grabiak told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that a nurse smelled the pot when she took a cigarette break in the same area. A hospital security guard then called police about 3:20 a.m. The man was released to a family member and made to leave the hospital. But if you get busted for it in Palm Beach County, you’re going to call it “trouble.” While many U.S. states have decriminalized possession of marijuana for recreational use, Florida still has draconian laws regarding this substance, especially when it comes to trafficking or cultivating it for purposes of distribution. Florida Law Under Florida law, possession of 25 or more plants (formerly 300 plants) is considered intent to sell or distribute, and is a second degree felony carrying a maximum penalty of 15 years in jail and a $10,000 fine. Fighting an Oxycodone Drug Traffic Charge in West Palm Beach

A man who tried to buy 1,300 oxycodone pills and sell them in Boston was recently arrested. Rony Exantus was booked on a federal attempted drug possession charge when his supplier turned out to be an undercover police officer. A Palm Beach County Sheriff narcotics officer posed as a pill supplier and brokered a deal to sell Exantus 1,300 oxycodone tablets for $23,400. The agent met Exantus in a Home Depot parking lot in West Palm Beach and exchanged a gym bag full of fake painkillers for a box full of cash. Exantus was then taken into custody and is now being held without bail. These kinds of arrests are becoming more common in Palm Beach County.
