Oxycodone Drug Trafficking Arrests in Palm Beach County

Oxycodone Drug Trafficking Arrests in Palm Beach County

The gang of alleged oxycodone peddlers chose places to do business that they thought wouldn’t attract the law: a barbecue restaurant in Boynton Beach, a gas station on Yamato Road, a glass shop in Boca Raton, even a Best Buy. Retail stores are a safe location to conduct drug transactions because “police do not gear their attention to that sort of activity,” one of the alleged drug dealers told an undercover officer, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s probable cause affidavit. But the alleged dealers apparently were wrong. The group of at least 12 were involved in the ring from 2010 to 2012 and have since been arrested on charges including racketeering and trafficking in oxycodone. Drug Trafficking is a very serious criminal charge, and one that is strongly pursued by law enforcement officials in Florida. Trafficking is often “over charged” for that same reason and Florida prosecutors are aggressive in trying to get drug convictions. The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects personal privacy, and every citizen’s right to be free from unreasonable government intrusion into their persons, homes, businesses, and property — whether through police… […]
