Federal, state and local authorities are coordinating efforts to find a 3-year-old girl abducted in Boynton Beach by her father. The girl, abducted after her father picked her up for a weekend visit, was taken to Mexico, Boynton Beach police said Tuesday. Jazmin Lopez was picked up Saturday from her mother’s home for what was supposed to be one of her usual one- or two-day visits with her father, Feliz De La Cruz Lopez, 26, police said. Here’s the kicker – she allegedly snatched the child more than 20 years ago and has raised her as her own. Ann Pettway gave herself up to the FBI Sunday morning in Connecticut after running from a warrant from North Carolina. She is on probation due to stealing items from a store where she worked and was consequently convicted of attempted embezzlement, and wasn’t allowed to leave the state. According to an article in WPTV News, Boynton Beach Police arrested a man for stealing a car with a newborn baby inside. A family called the police from a Shell gas station on the corner of Congress Avenue and Boynton Beach Boulevard around 2:45 p.m. after a man broke into their SUV and stole it from outside the gas station while they were inside. The family was hysterical as their 3-week-old baby was still inside the vehicle. The police report stated that a witness tried to follow the suspect onto Lawrence Road but later lost track of him. According to the Palm Beach Post, a man was arrested Friday for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl. When questioned by police, the man responded that the girl was his girlfriend and he was on his honeymoon. Isaias Salas Morales, 36, was arrested on kidnapping and sexual assault charges. He was taken into custody without any resistance or incident. The girl told her mother after the incident that Morales had sexually battered her in his home, according to the Palm Beach Post. 3 Louisiana Prison Escapees Are Accused of Kidnapping a Jupiter, Florida Man

Three desperate convicts from Louisiana kidnapped a Jupiter High School graduate recently, led him into some dark woods in Tallahassee and then returned from the woods without him, according to police. The convicts fled and a crime spree ran the length of Florida, from Tallahassee to Miami. Finally on April 12, 2010, authorities cornered the convicts in Miami and brought them back to a Tallahassee jail. “They didn’t have to kill him that way,” one of the convicts said, according to authorities.
