Pierce woman accused of giving prescription pills to a 16-year-old girl was held Monday in the St. Lucie County jail, according to an arrest affidavit and a jail official. Lisa Bennett, of the 5900 block of Hickory Drive in Fort Pierce, was arrested last week on charges including dispensing a prescription without a license, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child abuse. The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a case involving alprazolam at Port St. Lucie High School. A 19-year-old will be spending a long time in prison for driving drunk, crashing and killing a man. Beruch Zegeye, then 17, had spent a day partying with other Benjamin high school students, ingesting multiple Xanax tablets and drinking beer. Although his friends took his keys from him, he found them and chose to drive. Traveling at 80 miles per hour in his father’s Porsche, he slammed into the back of 45-year-old pizza deliveryman, Paul Krommendyk’s car in Palm Beach Garden in September 2008. According to the Palm Beach Post, two Royal Palm Beach High students were caught skipping school with backpacks containing loaded guns and ammunition. A deputy stopped the two juveniles at the 7-Eleven near Okeechobee Boulevard and State Road 7. They found a loaded black revolver, bullets, and two knives in one backpack, and a loaded 9mm handgun in the other. According to the police report, the teens told deputies that they were gang members and had the guns to protect themselves from other gangs. According to the Palm Beach Post, a man was arrested Friday for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl. When questioned by police, the man responded that the girl was his girlfriend and he was on his honeymoon. Isaias Salas Morales, 36, was arrested on kidnapping and sexual assault charges. He was taken into custody without any resistance or incident. The girl told her mother after the incident that Morales had sexually battered her in his home, according to the Palm Beach Post.
