PALM BEACH GARDENS — A man who went to a Palm Beach Gardens apartment late Monday thinking he was going to meet a woman named “Karry Parie” instead became the victim of an armed robbery, city police said. Police arrested Mark Coleman, 18, of Palm Beach Gardens and a 17-year-old boy on charges of armed robbery and grand theft after alleging they robbed the man at an apartment in the 3400 block of Periwinkle Court. According to police, the two men, one of them armed with a handgun, walked into the Comfort Inn at 2520 Stirling Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 14. One man reached over the counter for the cash register but was unable to locate it. On the surveillance video he can then be seen approaching a man and snatching his wallet before running away. The video shows the gunman jumping over the counter where police said he demanded cash from an employee. This week, a couple of people were robbed at gunpoint while trying to change a flat tire, and stuffed in the trunk.
