How A 92-Year-Old Man Could Be Charged With Stalking

According to WPTV News, a Martin County library patron, Herbert Johnson, 92, has been given a trespass warning to keep out of public libraries because he allegedly was making unwanted advances on female librarians. A librarian at Blake Library complained that Johnson, of the 3400 block of Southeast Martinique Trace, Stuart, sent her inappropriate gifts and letters, which she refused or tore up, according to a sheriff’s report. Then he allegedly left at the library’s front desk a letter “containing sexually explicit language stating what (he) wanted to do to” her, according a deputy’s report. Also the report says Johnson had made unwanted approaches to another female employee. A sheriff’s deputy went to Johnson’s house on Wednesday and gave him a trespass warning for all county libraries.
